Vauxhall Motors opened the Ellesmere Port plant in Cheshire in 1962. The plant is “home of the Astra”. The best-selling Opel model is built as a five-door version and Sports Tourer in the UK plant. The Astra Sports Tourer is built exclusively in Ellesmere Port.
